Home of the Wildest of Wild |
The Two Mile High Club is the oldest incorporated civic organization in the State of Colorado and meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Membership is open to all, individuals and companies, having interest in maintaining and promoting the health and welfare of our free roaming donkey herd (of which we currently have 13, with 2 expectant Jennies) and developing a better 'quality of life' in Southern Teller County, Colorado (Cripple Creek, Worlds Greatest Gold Camp and Victor, the City of Mines)
The 74th Donkey Derby Days will be a jam pack weekend
(June 24,25 & 26th in 2005) of fun and games. Featuring a Western Pack Burro
ASS-ociation race between the cities of Victor and Cripple Creek. This race
is wild
and wooly with world class athletes racing along side their favorite donkey partner (no
riding allowed). The race was over 10 miles at high altitude, rough mountain
trails. And featured on Saturday, June 25th will be our fourth amateur pack burro
race for those wanting to try their luck and see just what the Pro's races are about.
Both races were well attended and the race finish lines are normally packed with locals and
tourist alike.
Cripple Creek's Wild Roaming Donkey
Two Mile High Club also sponsors Aspen Fall Tours which are held annually on the last 2 weekends of September. Tours are FREE (donations accepted for our donkeys care) and the scenery is breathing and enjoy the history of the Worlds Greatest Gold Camp.
